I have often thought that I never had anything interesting to say. And based on the fact that no one ever replies to my posts validates this thought LOL
Film Photographer Snob„,BUSTED!
Last week a buyer was looking at some of my art images (the mushroom series) I had at a friends gallery. As I am listening to this guy rant about how “real photographers use film and hacks use digital”. Hack was his word by the way. I was starting to think this guy was talking about my images and of course my self-confidence was sinking rapidly.
After about 7 minuets of a profanity based cursing the digital medium he ends up saying; “take these mushrooms images for example”. They are well done, in square format, so obviously they are shot in film, Hasselblad 6x6 most likely”. He then says, I’ll buy this one and walks to the office of the gallery to pay.
After the guy paid for the print my buddy said enjoy your art. The man replied; “when it’s shot on film and this kind of care is taken in the darkroom, I always do”!
Little did he know that every single image was taken with my Canon 5D II and printed on my Epson 3880 on Canson Baryta Fiber Based inkjet paper. I guess the “film only” snob really was an ass-bag. But then again he did buy my print LMAO!……..Just goes to show you. The film shooters who look down on digital know your shit before you open your mouth LMFAO! Cha Ching!
